One Day At A Time, One Step At A Time

soleil standing up!!.jpg

The path remains clear as far as treatment and next steps for Soleil. A part of sharing Soleil’s testament is sharing her journey. Soleil has been improving daily and despite her peak with the posterior fossa syndrome, she has managed to continue putting a smile on her parents’ faces and really thrives in therapy. She still has her sass and sunshine! Soleil has been able to stick her tongue out, laugh at jokes, mimic others AND the BIG ONE.. she stood up today (assisted with physical therapy)!!!!!!!!!!! Such BIG steps for our sunshine girl! Prayers are definetly powerful and James, May and Soleil can feel all of them! Please continue to send up prayers for our sunshine girl Soleil and her parents May and James for staying strong and being a motivational force for Soleil! One day at a time and one step at time!!!

We’d like to share a Novena we find powerful in times of urgent requests.

Prayer to little infant Jesus:

O Jesus, Who has said, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. Through the intercession of Mary, Your Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted. (Make your request).

O Jesus, Who has said, all that you ask of the Father in my Name, He will grant you through the intercession of Mary. Your Most Holy Mother. I humbly and urgently ask Your Father in Your Name that my prayer be granted. (Make your request).

O Jesus, Who has said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My work shall not pass,” through the intercession of Mary, Your Most Holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted. (Make your request).

This novena is to be said at the same time every hour for nine consecutive hours in one day. This is a good novena for urgent requests that cannot wait nine days to be prayed. You must pray it every hour for nine consecutive hours at the same time.

Monday Morning Snuggles

Monday morning snuggles are just what the doctor ordered. After an eventful day yesterday, Soleil was able to get some rest cuddling with James. No fevers or twitching overnight. No drainage from the incision site, and no need for an EEG today. They will continue watching her pressures and for any clinical symptoms.

4/24/16 Updates on Soleil

Soleil has been recovering from her brain surgery for 12 days now. After the removal of a 4.5 cm tumor, Soleil developed posterior fossa syndrome, hydrocephalus, had a feeding tube placed, has gone down for frequent MRIs, and is connected to multiple IV fluids and drains. Despite all these setbacks, Soleil is continuing to get stronger day by day with the help of her strong parents May and James and the power of prayer. She continues to work with speech, physical and occupational therapy daily. So far she has been able to sit herself up in bed, laugh at jokes, string a few phrases and words together, but most of all SMILE.

Today, Sunday April 24, 2016, Soleil went in for an Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV), for her hydrocephalus. Post-operatively Soleil developed a 103 fever with some facial and extremity twitching and doctors are working on ruling out seizures. The doctors diligently assessed Soleil and had her down in MRI in a matter of minutes. Labs were drawn and they all came back within normal limits, MRI results didn’t show any acute changes and Soleil has been a trooper through it all. According to May, Soleil is still laughing at little jokes and eating. They plan to do an EEG tomorrow morning to assess for any seizure activity and until then they have her controlled on anticonvulsant medication. Please continue to pray and keep Soleil, May, James, and Mason in your daily prayers! We thank you all for your continued support and prayers!!
