In clinic today, Soleil was deaccessed from her Port or “Super Button” as she calls it – for a month. Whooo hoo! Child Specialists dropped off Soleil’s cap from Caps For Kids. They asked her to choose 3 people to autograph her hat and her first pick did! (Her list: 1-Bruno Mars, 2-Jack Black, 3-Philip Rivers)

Also, Kai’s scans came back clear on Wednesday! Soleil’s cousin is also a strong warrior. We are always in #KaisKorner.  Yesterday, Soleil rang the bell for completing her last day of Proton Therapy and today, her good friend Jonah gets to be discharged and go home! Feeling blessed and filled with gratitude this week. Hugs and high-fives all around!

 Today, we celebrate our Sunshine Girl’s last day of Proton Therapy! She got to ring the bell as we all surprised her to celebrate the end of radiation treatment. She also autographed her name on the big board of pediatric super heroes who have completed treatment. It was quite emotional and we are all feeling Soleil Strong!

We were blessed with the best team to care for her these past 6 weeks. Dr. Pai; her RNs, especially Carissa, Beth and Tahnee; and of course, the behind-the-scenes team, including Dale who made Soleil’s awesome Paw Patrol mask!

After, we had a celebratory lunch at Soleil’s favorite restaurant. 

And Soleil FINALLY added the last sticker to her Proton Therapy Chart! Starting tomorrow, she’ll get a month’s break before starting chemotherapy but will continue with speech, physical and occupational therapy. We are so proud of you Soleil! And as always, thank you all for your good vibes, positive thoughts and uplifting prayers for our Sunshine Girl’s complete healing! 😘 #SoleilStrong 

Yesterday, Soleil had a quick trip to the ER to assess bruising at her Port site. While waiting for the docs, she made a yellow, churro for her Daddy. Shortly after being cleared, they were discharged and sent home. 

At home, her Godmother and Grandmas came to visit after the successful Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. It was a full house and we thank all those who patiently waited for their pancake breakfasts. And special thanks to Soleil’s Grandmas, Godmothers, Godfathers, and cousins for serving – it was a huge turnout and we are ever so grateful again, for the love and support! 

The Toledos attended their first Make-A-Wish Event today. Soleil and Mason had a good time with the petting zoo, characters, photo booth, and tattoos! They are grateful to have this opportunity and will be meeting with their team of Wish Granters at home to fulfill our Sunshine Girl’s wish. This is definitely something to look forward to once treatment is complete!

Soleil’s Mama Glenice and Uncle Bryan have graciously organized efforts to continue fundraising for our Sunshine Girl. Truly grateful for family, love and support! 💛

And to have her cousin get a symbolic, sunflower design and her Godmother shave her head with a cool, design and cut!

Soleil is half way through radiation and will begin Phase II of Proton Therapy today, completing radiation on the spine yet continuing a targeted beam to her brain, towards the tumor bed.

Aside from hair loss and bouts of morning nausea, our Doc McSoleil has tolerated treatment well.
